The Alamo Bowl has been played annually since 1993. The game is located in San Antonio, Texas at the Alamodome.. The game has featured teams from the Big Ten and Big 12 since 1995. Over the years, the game has had a few different sponsors. From 1993-1998, the game was sponsored by Builders Square. Sylvania was the sponsor from 1999-2001. From 2002-2005, MasterCard was the game’s official sponsor. The 2006 game did not have a sponsor. The 2006 game had a $2.2 million payout for each school.
