University Of Florida – Florida Gators
Yes, it's true. Gatorade was invented in Gainesville, FL, at the University of Florida, just as the commercial claims. Whether or not you're a fan of Florida Gators football, you have to appreciate the players in the 60s for being thirsty - we've all benefited. The university itself was founded in 1853, and is now enjoying the 3rd largest enrollment in the United States with over 50,000 students. For the athletes, it's always nice to have such a large, built-in fan base!
2007 Florida Gators Outlook:
How can you top the 2006 season? After all the arguments about deserving a shot at the national title, the Florida Gators proved their worth from the opening kickoff, claiming the 2006 BCS Championship. 2007 comes with the introduction to some new faces, but the same philosophy. All eyes will be on Tim Tebow to see if he can lead the team to similar results. Although the Gators will be exciting to watch, their lack of experience across the board will make their chance for a repeat an improbability. Look for them towards the top of the SEC East, yet in a much tighter conference race than 2006.

2007 Florida Gators Head Coach Profile
Urban Meyer has carved his niche in Florida Gator football history. After enjoying two incredibly successful seasons at Florida (22-4), it seems the resonance of Steve Spurrier has dissipated and Urban has cleared the way. His uncanny ability to utilize personnel has made him successful in every bowl appearance he has ever made. His current bowl record stands at 5-0, including a BCS Championship in 2006.
2007 Florida Gators – Players To Watch/Key Departures
The Gators lost an emotional leader in quarterback Chris Leak, yet within the same thought, fans are ready to see the Tim Tebow era begin. Tebow's arm is what everyone is curious to see; We know he CAN throw, but 2007 will offer his first test of HAVING to throw.
Losing running back Deshawn Wynn to the NFL will leave a lack of maturity in the Gator offensive backfield. Who of the young running backs will step up to take the starting job?
