University Of Georgia – Georgia Bulldogs
How can you hate that little bulldog, Uga? If you really want to know, just ask the other 11 teams competing in the SEC. Without a doubt, he is loved by the 32,000-plus students in Athens, GA that call the University of Georgia home. UGA has served as home for degree seeking students since 1785, making it one of the oldest institutions of higher learning in the United States. They have enjoyed a rich history, including 6 versions of Uga the dog, and two of the most famous rivalries in college football: The “Deep South's Oldest Rivalry” vs. Auburn, and “The World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party” vs. Florida.
2007 Georgia Bulldogs Outlook:
Spring ball didn't offer much in regards to satisfying the curiosity of fans and analysts. There are a few more returning starters on the offensive side of the ball, and things have started to take shape this summer, but it can be expected that the Bulldogs will be ready to play once late August rolls around. They finished the SEC season at .500 last year with a record of 4-4, and 2007 should offer a slight improvement. If they play well against South Carolina early and can pick up a win vs. Alabama or Tennessee, they stand a chance to compete for the SEC East title. 2007 Georgia Bulldogs Schedule

Coach Mark Richt enters his 7th year with the Bulldogs with high expectations of another winning season. In his first 6 seasons he took the Georgia Bulldogs to three SEC Championship games, winning two of them. He seems to fit well into the rich tradition and history of UGA football, and the only thing that remains is putting together a run through the SEC to grab a national title game bid. Once he cracks that code, look for Georgia to once again become the team to beat in the SEC. 2007 Georgia Bulldogs – Players To Watch/Key Departures Wide Receiver Sean Bailey has been laboring through a long healing process that began after a knee injury in 2005. He sat all of last season, but made tremendous strides during spring ball to be the #1 WR in the Bulldogs 2007 starting line-up. Quarterback Matt Stafford also showed promise last year. As 2007's starter, it should be fun to watch him progress as Georgia's offensive leader. |
