University Of Kentucky – Kentucky Wildcats The Big Blue Nation has once again found some football pride. It's been a long journey for this “basketball” school. Founded in 1865, in Lexington, KY, the University of Kentucky now has a student body that is registered at nearly 26,000. 2006 offered Kentucky Wildcat these students and fans the chance to cheer for a winning football team that not only played into a post-season bowl, but brought home a win! The football team better be careful or Ashley Judd might start showing up at more than basketball games. That sounds like a reason to win to me. 2007 Kentucky Wildcats Outlook: Offensive explosions and defensive woes were the name of the game for last year's Cats. Overall, the defense struggled, yet showed promise in several games in 2006. With another year of experience under some youthful belts, Kentucky could easily be the surprise of the SEC East. Florida is rebuilding, Georgia is riding on the shoulders of a true sophomore and who knows if it will be the year that Spurrier breaks through at South Carolina. To say the least, if Kentucky continues to improve early in 2007, they'll greatly affect the SEC's final standings. 2007 Kentucky Wildcats Schedule

2007 Kentucky Wildcats Head Coach Profile Most football fans remember Rich Brooks in the rebuilding of the St. Louis Rams, and prepping the squad for the introduction of Dick Vermeil. In 2002 Brooks took over the struggling Kentucky program, and has slowly built a series of talented recruiting classes with the desire to play football for the Wildcats. In essence, what he accomplished with his team in 2006 was as close to football magic as Wildcat fans have seen in some time. Brooks seems to have found a home in Lexington, and it will be fun to see how far he can take the 2007 squad. 2007 Kentucky Wildcats – Players To Watch/Key Departures These Wildcats are groomed to be the best Kentucky football team that fans have seen in quite some time. Quarterback Andre Woodson is bringing his athleticism back to Lexington, and he'll have familiar offensive weapons to do damage with: RB Rafael Little, TE Jacob Lamme and WR's Keenan Burton and Dicky Lyons. |
