University Of Missouri – Mizzou Tigers Founded in 1839, the University of Missouri is known more affectionately to students, alumni and fans as MIZZOU. Listen closely to any televised home game and you're bound to hear it – Group 1: M-I-Z! Group 2: Z-O-U! Regardless of the under-achievement of recent years, the 27,985 students in Columbia, MO, that refer to Mizzou as their “school,” are loyal and ready to cheer on their Tigers. 2007 Missouri Tigers Outlook: After finishing 2006 with a record that should have shown 10 knocks in the win column, the Mizzou Tigers are determined to get to that next level. Nebraska is the definite favorite in the Big XII North, but I believe that prediction to be premature after the potential the MU Tigers showed during the first several weeks of last season. With more experienced players taking the field in 2007, Missouri has the opportunity to open some eyes and lure some recruits. If they improve their conference play, and the defensive reserves step up, MU stands the chance of finishing the regular season with 10 wins. 2007 Missouri Tigers Schedule

In that time he's dealt with athletic program scandals, wishy-washy players and even parents who seem to think their “All-American” children would be better served by a different head coach. What remains as fact is that Coach Pinkel has a winning record at MU. If he can beat Nebraska this year and move on to the Big XII title game, he'll solidify himself as having “turned the program around.” A 10 win season is in his future with Chase Daniel taking the snaps. 2007 Missouri Tigers – Players To Watch/Key Departures Chase Daniel was one of the most pleasant surprises in college football last year. With a year of experience under his belt, and leadership qualities that simply can't be taught, the Missouri Tigers have a true team leader at the quarterback position – a team leader with 3 years of eligibility left! Joining him in the offensive attack are running back, Tony Temple, and Daniel's favorite target, tight end, Chase Coffman. |
