University Of Texas – Texas Longhorns

It's almost frightening to drive through Austin, TX, on game day if the Longhorns are playing at home. Unless of course, you happen to be one of the 49,696 students that are registered “users” of the university. Founded in 1883, one thing has remained consistent for years and years, Texas A&M is to be beaten at any cost. Whether it's a football game or an award in the world of academia, competition is at its best between the two Texas schools. The game after Thanksgiving in 2007 will offer nothing less, as it promises to be one of the best UT vs. T-A&M match-ups in years.

2007 Texas Longhorns Outlook:

It's looking like the Horns could hook'em another Big XII South title if they play well in the big games. They've been a team to beat on the national map for the last several years, and football fans shouldn't expect 2007 to be much different. Vince Young and the 2005 Longhorns cast a deep and wide shadow, but the 2006 squad, led by Freshman QB Colt McCoy played beyond expectations. McCoy looks to lead his Longhorn teammates to an even better season result this year, as he brings more maturity, leadership skills and big game experience to the table.

2007 Texas Longhorns Head Coach Profile

He's got loads of personality, and his name resonates football: Mack Brown. Longhorn fans couldn't ask for more, yet early in his Texas tenure they certainly did. They wanted more wins, Big XII championships and even national spotlight, so what did he do – he delivered. UT hasn't dipped below 9 wins in a single season since the arrival of Brown. Hopefully Texas fans realize what they have in this contemporary anomaly.

2007 Texas Longhorns – Players To Watch/Key Departures

All eyes are on Colt McCoy, as they should be. After an impressive season as a frosh, will he build upon that foundation or slip into the dreaded sophomore slump? He's bigger and stronger coming into 2007, and Mack Brown looks to utilize these new tools.

Jamaal Charles looks to improve on his totals from last year, and with last year's experience under his belt, he could very well go over the 1,000 yard mark in 2007.
