Desmond Howard - ABC/ESPN
Lead Play-by-Play Announcer: ABC/ESPN
Desmond Howard made Super Bowl history in 1996 when he became the first special teams player ever to win the Super Bowl MVP award. Super Bowl XXXI became the defining point in a record-breaking NFL career. Currently, Howard is a college football analyst for ESPN. Howard, a University of Michigan graduate and Heisman Trophy winner, entered into the NFL in 1992 with the Washington Redskins. His accomplishments on the field in college placed him to be taken as the fourth person in that year's draft. After two seasons with the Redskins, Howard spent one season with the Jacksonville Jaguars before heading into his Super Bowl MVP season with the Green Bay Packers. Lasting only one season in Green Bay, Howard spent the next two seasons with the Oakland Raiders before returning to Green Bay in 1999. Another one-season stint with the Packers would then see Howard finishing his NFL career with two years as a Detroit Lion where he would finally be voted into the Pro Bowl.
