AFC Cup wrap: Al Shorta edge Al Qadsia
By Football News
Syrian club Al Shorta got their AFC Cup off to a winning start, with a 1-0 result away at Kuwait outfit Al Qadsia on Wednesday.
The visitors had an over-zealous fan take to the pitch and harass Al Qadsia star Omar Al Soma, before being pole-axed by a Kuwait soldier and hitting the deck hard.
His pain may have been eased somewhat by Al Shorta picking up all three points, and moving equal top of Group D alongside Al Ramtha.
In other Cup results, Iraq club Duhok clinched a 3-1 away victory at Yemen outfit Al Sha'ab Ibb, while Omani side Dhufar saw off Jordanian team Al Faisaly 3-2 in Amman.
