Allegri sets sights on Milan revival

By Football News

AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri hopes Wednesday's Champions League clash at Anderlecht will prompt a positive run of form.

Milan have struggled in Serie A this season, sitting 12th in the table, and are still not guaranteed to make it to the Champions League knockout stages.

But Allegri is hoping a win in their penultimate Group C clash in Belgium can spark a positive run of form in the lead up to Christmas.

"It will be an important match tomorrow against Anderlecht, we have two matches left and four points to gain if we want to pass to the next stage," Allegri said.

"It will be difficult tomorrow because they're in good shape, Champions League matches are never easy and above all we will be playing at their home so it will be tougher for us.

"I've already said that Milan's group in the Champions League is very balanced, and it definitely proved it to be."

On his side's domestic form, Allegri felt a sense of injustice at some of the results.

"As for our season in Serie A, I think that, even if we didn't play that well, we might have deserved some more points," he said.

"We have the time to catch back the other top teams, the guys are very well both physically and mentally.

"We have an important month ahead before the Christmas break and we need to give all that we have up to that moment."
