By Football News
Anderlecht have defeated Lokeren 3-0 with a brace from Dieumerci Mbokani to put them one point off the top of the Belgian First Division.
Mbokani scored in the 52nd and 88th minutes, while Olivier Deschacht hit the back of the net seven minutes after his team-mate's first goal as Anderlecht cruised to a comfortable win on Saturday.
The victory has taken Anderlecht to 19 points, one behind league-leaders Club Brugge, who are set to travel to fifth-placed Gent on Sunday.
In the game of the day, OH Leuven overcame Waasland-Beveren 5-2 but only wrapped up the victory with two late goals from Ebrahim Sawaneh.
Leuven were in front 1-0 at half-time thanks to Christian Pouga's 39th-minute goal but Beveren hit back eight minutes after the break when Christoph Lepoint scored.
Icelandic midfielder Stefan Gislason gave Leuven the lead again in the 61st minute before Barak Badash equalised for Beveren with a penalty three minutes later.
Pouga scored his second in the 71st minute before Leuven finally ended Beveren's resistance with goals in the 88th and 92nd minutes from Gambia striker Sawaneh, who came off the bench to complete the win.
Zulte-Waregem also grabbed a big win, thrashing Lierse 4-1, while in other Belgian First Division results Mons defeated Beerschot 1-0, Genk came from behind to win 2-1 against Mechelen and Cercle Brugge knocked off Sporting Charleroi 1-0.
