Bento admits communication let-down

Portugal were forced to come back from a goal down to overcome Luxembourg 2-1 last Friday, in an ultimately unconvincing start to their FIFA World Cup qualification campaign.
But while Paulo Bento was satisfied with his side's ability to recover a deficit, he was more disappointed by their defensive frailities and his own failure to properly instruct his charges.
"The result was positive, as well as the manner in how we reversed a negative situation, but we then lacked the ability to control the game," Bento said.
"But we won the three points (and) that was the main goal.
"The point is to reverse this trend. Maybe it's my fault, maybe I have not passed on the message in the best way.
"The truth is that we are not as good and consistent as we could be."
Portugal have long been accused of failing to follow up their stylish brand of football with success on the international stage, but Bento is not giving up in his attempts to blend the two together.
"We want to always win while playing well," he added.
"This is what we've tried to do, because the culture we come from is not satisfied solely by results."
