It has been an interesting few weeks in the Football League as the season is drawing to a close. Here is the latest round-up.
Sky Bet ChampionshipLeicester look to be returning back to the Premier League for the first time since 2004 as they are currently sitting 16 points above the play off places with just 7 games remaining and they are also unbeaten in the last 20 games. They can in fact clinch promotion this coming weekend if they manage to beat Sheffield Wednesday on Friday evening and other results go their way.
At the other end of the table, Yeovil look to be in a bit of bother as they lie 6 points from safety. However a trip to relegation rivals Blackpool this coming Saturday would be a game which could influence whether Yeovil will end the game in the relegation zone.
Sky Bet League OneThe key game this weekend in the Sky Bet League One would be the game coming from Molinuex as top of the league Wolves take on promotion hopefuls Peterborough United with the Posh going into the game on the back of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy Final victory against League 2 Chesterfield. If you are in the local area and wanting to go to a game then this is building up to be a feisty affair.
Sky Bet League TwoThere are a few games in League Two which would be worth you to keep your eye on as a number of teams are looking to gain an all important play-off spot as the season is reaching its finale. Key games would include Burton Albion v Plymouth, Rochdale v York City and also Oxford United v Fleetwood Town.
Fleetwood would be looking to close the gap and push towards the automatic promotion places when they visit the Kassam Stadium this coming Saturday but they face a tough test as Oxford have lost their last 2 games so they would be looking to get a result to keep their play off dreams alive. Dave Kitson scored a late equaliser to rescue a point when the two sides met at Highbury Stadium last November.
