Liverpool have further strengthened their title bid with a 2-1 victory over Sunderland this evening at Anfield, with goals from both skipper Steven Gerrard and in-form striker Daniel Sturridge.

At the bottom end of the table, West Ham managed to overcome opponents Hull City in a 2-1 win to push further and further from the relegation zone.

Wayne Rooney believes that, as a consequence of a poor season for Manchester United, the 'fear factor' that has been associated with Old Trafford for so many years no longer exists.

Rumours and transfer news have already begun emerging in time for the summer transfer window, with Jeremy Menez of PSG stating he would be open to a return to Serie A or Monaco when his contract at the club runs out.

The two main two rumours doing the rounds today are that Manchester City reportedly made an offer to sign departing Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna on a 3-year-deal, as back-up for ageing Pablo Zabaleta.

The second big story from the day is that Spanish newspaper AS revealed that Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola has revealed his interest in signing Atletico Madrid midfielder Koke.
