The Clásico Del Pacífico will wrap up the CONMEBOL docket of matches. Chile are out of the final playoff spot but a win and a Uruguay slip up could have them fall right into that spot. Easier said that done although things are looking calmer for La Roja after the departure of Claudio Borghi.
Jorge Sampaoli become that middle of the road coach from the extreme Bielsistic, maniacal obsession that brought some accolades along the way while the more laissez faire Borghi saw many problems emerge during his tenure because of him being extremely lax.
Peru in the meantime have begun their last ditch effort to stay in the race for a World Cup spot. Yet a win combined with a few other results would see them right in the middle of things yet again. More importantly, Peru are looking to end a nine-year drought over their eternal rivals. That will be made difficult with the absences of Carlos Zambrano, Juan Vargas as well as the suspended Paolo Guerrero.
