FA Cup: Cheltenham Town 1 Hereford United 1

By Football News

Cheltenham Town and Hereford United could not be separated in their second-round FA Cup clash on Monday which ended up 1-1.

The result means Cheltenham now travel to Hereford next week for their replay to decide who will host Premier League club Everton in the third round of the competition in the first week of January.

Shaun Harrad got the ball rolling at Abbey Business Stadium when he gave Cheltenham the lead after 16 minutes.

The striker's right foot connected sweetly with the ball from six yards out and it ended up in the bottom left corner of the net.

But it did not take long for the visitors to equalise.

Just four minutes later, Hereford were level when Josh O'Keefe headed a Ryan Bowman cross past Cheltenham goalkeeper Scott Brown.

There would be no further score in the match and it was an outcome that Hereford would be more pleased with.

They will now enjoy home ground advantage against Cheltenham at Edgar Street in a match which will go to extra time, and then penalties, to determine who progresses to the third round.
