Garde frustrated by Evian stalemate

Lyon manager Remi Garde lamented his side's inability to break down a resilient Evian in their 0-0 stalemate in Ligue 1 on Friday.
Garde cited a lack of 'rhythm and intensity' as the reasons behind Lyon's failure to score, while also praising Evian for their strong defensive display.
"Actually, we played against a team which defended well and was well-organized," he said after the game.
"We would have needed more pace in our game, more aggressiveness in a more consistent way. We did not do it in the first half. Then we tried in the second one. We lacked the will and as a team we need to improve many points.
"The reality was that Evian made it tough for us. They were extremely well-organised defensively, knew exactly what they needed to do and carried it through right to the end. As I said, they managed it because of the lack of intensity and rhythm to our game."
The result is enough for Lyon to extend their lead on top of Ligue 1 to three points with all other teams yet to play this weekend.
