Garde wary of resurgent Sochaux

By Football News

Lyon coach Remi Garde believes Sunday's opponents Sochaux will be brimming with confidence when the teams clash in Ligue 1.

Sochaux's 2-1 win over Evian moved them out of the relegation zone and brought their four game winless streak to an end, and Garde believes the victory will be just the tonic for Eric Hely's men.

"It's a team which has been in a difficult position since the start of the season. But they can breathe a little bit after their win against Evian," Garde said.

"It's always the same, there's a sense of relief and winning a game certainly gives you more confidence.

"Of course we are focused on Sochaux but we are also focused on ourselves. It's going to be an important game because we want to continue our good form."

Third-placed Lyon, meanwhile, have only lost once all season and will need a win to keep the pressure on early pace-setters PSG and Marseille.
