Liga MX wrap: Tigres' unbeaten run ends, Jaguares win on road

League leaders Tigres UANL fell to their first defeat of the Liga MX season, going down 2-1 away to Pumas UNAM.
Emanuel Villa gave the visitors at the Estadio Olimpico de Universitario a dream start with the opening goal in the eighth minute, but Pumas fought back admirably.
An own goal to Tigres defender Hugo Ayala four minutes later saw the sides level, before Martin Bravo struck the winner for the home side to fire them into fifth spot.
Bravo's winner came from a Pumas corner, as he belted an athletic volley into the top-right corner of the net on 32 minutes.
Tigres remain top of the table on 29 points - one ahead of second-placed Atlas.
There were late winners for both Jaguares and Atlante on the road - with both sides earning maximum points to boost their struggling fortunes this season.
Jaguares climbed to 15th on the table with a 2-1 win at Puebla (14th).
Jorge Rodriguez hit the winner on 87 minutes at Estadio Cuauhtemoc, after Luis Lorona's opener for Jaguares was cancelled out by Damarcus Beasley's equaliser for Puebla.
Atlante came from a goal down at the Estadio Omnilife to beat Gudalajara 2-1.
Sitting bottom of the table at the start of the day, Daniel Guzman's men climbed to 17th courtesy of goals to Luis Venegas (76th minute) and Francisco Uscanga (88th).
Leon now reside in bottom spot on nine points, with Atlante one clear of them on 10.
