Mellberg predicts tough Real task

By Football News

Copenhagen's Olof Mellberg is not sure his side can repeat their UEFA Champions League heroics against Juventus when they face Real Madrid.

The Danish club got their European campaign under way with a surprise 1-1 draw against Juventus at Parken Stadium last month.

Despite their point against the Italian champions, defender Mellberg acknowledges his side face an uphill task if they are to pick up their first win in Group B against Carlo Ancelotti's side on Wednesday.

"There is hope, but this will be a totally different game," said Mellberg.

"I feel Madrid will come out very strongly. It will be a very complicated encounter for us. We will have to put more pressure on them than we did on Juve in Copenhagen."

Copenhagen, who have made a mixed start to their Superliga campaign and sit in 11th, take on a Real side who have lost just once in La Liga this season.

Mellberg believes Copenhagen need fortune on their side as well as a sub-standard Real performance if they are to take anything from the game.

"In order to get something out of the game we will have to put in a great performance, get them on a bad day and also have a bit of luck on our side," he explained.

"We will need a bit of everything."
