Sevilla complete Gameiro deal
By Football News
Sevilla have announced the signing of striker Kevin Gameiro from Paris Saint-Germain.
Gameiro, 26, joins on a five-year contract after making just seven league starts for PSG last term.
The arrival of the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ezequiel Lavezzi limited Gameiro's playing time as PSG cruised to the Ligue 1 title.
Signed from Lorient in 2011, Gameiro was one of the first players to join PSG following the takeover by the Qatar Investment Authority.
However, the signing of Edinson Cavani will have been another blow to his hopes of first-team football, and he will now boost a Sevilla side that has lost stars Jesus Navas and Alvaro Negredo to Manchester City in the close-season.
A statement on Sevilla's official website read: "Kevin Gameiro has now become a new player of Sevilla FC, after passing a medical examination and signing his new contract.
"The striker will have a buyout clause of €40million. Gameiro will be presented this (Thursday) afternoon at the Sanchez Pizjuan, where fans can see him in a Sevilla shirt for the first time."
Gameiro scored 23 goals during his two-year spell with PSG.
