Yes, Goalkeepers are a rare choice for Captains, but Joe Cannon would be a perfect fit on most teams. Cannon definitely has the age and experience factors in his favor, and his easy going personality off the pitch is well known to followers of the club. The only major drawback to Cannon as Captain is that Brad Knighton is chomping at the bit to get his playing time in, so Cannon might not play enough matches to be a successful choice. However, if he keeps getting shutouts like he did on Saturday, that problem might never surface.
