204 targets

Drumroll, please! We are now at No. 1, and there is no better receiver to head the list of most targeted NFL players than the man they call “Megatron.” Calvin Johnson’s 2012 season was equally as awesome as his nickname, as he tallied an astounding 1,964 receiving yards on his 204 targets. In an offense that throws as much as Detroit (Matthew Stafford led the NFL in pass attempts with 727 in 2012), Johnson’s targets are in absolutely no jeopardy and he is an easy bet to lead the NFL in targets once again this season. Finding space to get open should even become slightly easier for Calving Johnson this year, as the Lions get slot receiver Ryan Broyles back from injury and add a pass catching force out of the backfield in Reggie Bush. The only thing that will change for Johnson in 2013 is his abnormally low touchdown total from a year ago. A player of Megatron’s skill level won’t catch a mere five touchdowns on 204 targets again, and he will be even better for fantasy teams in 2013.
