With the 2014 college football season on the horizon, the recent release of the Pac-12 schedule will make you as giddy as a kid with a pillow case full of candy on Halloween.

Each fan can scroll down and see when their favorite school is playing and mark the date to get tickets for a game in person or maybe watch a classic in the making on TV at your favorite drinking hole. Each year, the release of the Pac-12 schedule signals hope within all of us that this may be the year or else simply just a fresh start. If you have love for any team, reading the schedule for the first time — whether it’s on the Internet or a small paper foldout handed to you at a booth — is exciting.

The 2014 schedule highlights non-conference games against teams from the Mountain West and from the Big Ten. There will even be a neutral sight game at AT&T Stadium in Dallas between Texas and UCLA, but we all know that is a home game for the Longhorns.

There will also be key Pac-12 matchups between rivals like Oregon (Washington), Oregon (Oregon State), Washington (Washington State), California (Stanford) and UCLA (USC) to name a few. Some of the big games will be like the cross-division Stanford at UCLA contest on the final week.

"Pac-12 football will once again take center stage for a national audience next season on ESPN, FOX, and Pac-12 Networks," said Pac-12 Commissioner Larry Scott on Pac-12.com. "Fans are set to enjoy more coverage of their favorite teams as well as increased access to behind-the-scenes coverage and analysis on Pac-12 networks.”

Some fans will get to see their team play in Hawaii or Boston. That may create an opportunity to take a trip out of your home stadium. All games will be shown on TV on FOX, ESPN or Pac-12 networks, so Saturdays, Fridays or even Thursdays will be good days for warming up that sofa or meeting up with friends and family.

The Pac-12 Football Championship Game will be played on neutral ground for the first time at the new Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.
