With the 36th pick of the 2011 NFL Draft, the San Francisco 49ers picked Colin Kaepernick, a quarterback from Nevada. Kaepernick was drafted as a "project" quarterback, and after not seeing much action in his first year an a half, he tore up the NFL in the second half of the 2012 season. Kaepernick threw for 1,849 yards in just 13 games, with 10 touchdowns and only three interceptions.
Kaepernick also showed he has the "it" factor that NFL teams crave during the 49ers' Super Bowl run. Kaepernick set an NFL postseason record for quarterbacks by rushing for 181 yards in a playoff game against the Packers.
Honorable mention: Andy Dalton
Gronkowski for sure!
