Bio

Though somewhat on the small side, the JUCO transfer proved his worth for the Cyclones, eventually earning six starts and leading the team in rushing. With 2014 dawning, Aaron Wimberly  looks to put a year of experience at the FBS level to good use in his final season.

High School & Junior College
Played at South Gwinnett High School in Snellville, Ga., where he rushed for 1,935 yards his last two seasons, earning all-league and all-county honors. Matriculated to Iowa Western where he was a two-time first-team all-conference selection and was named to the NJCAA All-American second-team his sophomore year after earning honorable mention status as a freshman. Rushed for 1,125 yards and 13 scores in his sophomore campaign and was part of a Reiver squad that won the NJCAA national championship.

College
Wimberly took a while to get rolling, but eventually won the starting job in 2013. In all, he would get six starts and rush for 567 yards and two scores for the Cyclones. He also proved to be a solid receiver with 18 catches for 211 yards and two more scores.

He recorded a season-high with 137 yards against Tulsa and had a season-high in carries against Texas with 29 (117 yards). He’ll look to improve on those numbers for the Iowa State offense in 2014.
