Former Arizona Cardinals tailback Beanie Wells is in Jacksonville Thursday for a workout with the Jaguars according to Ryan O’Halloran of the Florida Times-Union.

This marks the second audition of the offseason for Wells, who worked out for the Steelers back in March.

Though he has shown the ability to be a key contributor, injuries have continued to plague him. The primary concern with Wells is his troublesome right knee which has cost him more than a few games during his time in Arizona. Most recently, a bout with turf toe cut his latest season in half. Wells appeared in just eight games for the Cardinals last season. He picked up 234 yards and five touchdowns on 88 attempts.

The running back situation in Jacksonville is still remains up in the air, to an extent. Star running back Maurice Jones-Drew continues to recover from a foot injury, which required surgery. He is not expected to be ready until the start of training camp and recent reports have surfaced claiming that Jones-Drew, who has not been a part of any of the optional workouts, is currently out of shape and overweight.

The No.2 running back slot is currently occupied by Justin Forsett. The sixth-year back out of California posted 374 yards and a touchdown on 63 carries for the Houston Texans a year ago.

Fifth-round draft pick Denard Robinson is currently transitioning from quarterback to running back.
