Boston Breakers Raise Money for Bombing Victims

By Boston Breakers

The Boston Breakers announced Tuesday they have raised more than $4,600 to help those most affected by Boston Marathon bombings on April 15.

The Breakers generated the donations by auctioning off Boston Strong Breakers T-shirts worn by the players Saturday night during warm-ups, prior to the home match against the Chicago Red Stars.

Each player signed their T-shirt for the auction. The proceeds will go to The One Fund Boston, which was formed to help those affected by the tragic events last month at the Boston Marathon.

The starting bid for each T-shirt was $25, with the shirts of four players topping more than $500 in donations during the auction:

Sydney Leroux     $666.00

Katie Schoepfer   $600.00

Heather O’Reilly  $555.00

Cat Whitehill        $500.00

In addition to the T-shirt auction, the Breakers also raised money for The One Fund Boston through proceeds of the sales of Boston Strong Breakers wristbands.
