Rookie Christine Michael is the ideal player to complement Marshawn Lynch in the backfield. His blend of speed and power make him a viable option when Lynch needs a breather.

First, Michael will have to surpass Robert Turbin in the running-back rankings — and it won't be easy. Turbin has the advantage of having more experience under his belt, but if Michael proves to Carroll that he is worth it, expect the coach to give Michael a lot more snaps. Michael showed what he’s capable last week in the preseason opener, when he ran for 89 yards on 16 carries.

“Christine Michael looked great," Russell WIlson said. "He’s so explosive and really quick.”

Michael and Turbin will battle for the backup position over the next two weeks.
