The Buffalo Bills’ 2013 schedule is officially out. Here is a game-by-game look at the teams on their slate:

Sept. 8, 2013: The good news is that the Bills open their season at home. The bad news is that they face the Patriots at 1 p.m. on CBS.

Sept. 15, 2013: It’s a second straight home game, but this one is against Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers at 1 p.m. on Fox.

Sept. 22, 2013: New Bills defensive coordinator Mike Pettine returns to his old stomping grounds as Buffalo visits Rex Ryan and the Jets at 4:25 p.m. on CBS.

Sept. 29, 2013: Well, if you have to face the defending Super Bowl champs, you might as well get them at home. Joe Flacco & Co. visit at 1 p.m. on CBS.

Oct. 3, 2013: The last time the Bills played on Thursday night, they beat the Miami Dolphins, 19-14, last season. This year, they try to repeat that feat at Cleveland at 8:25 p.m. on NFL Network.

Oct. 13, 2013: The Bills’ sixth game of the 2013 season will be their third against a 2012 playoff team. Andy Dalton and the Cincinnati Bengals come to Ralph Wilson Stadium for a 1 p.m. tilt on CBS.

Oct. 20, 2013:  This might be an early battle for second place in the AFC East as Buffalo travels to Miami for a 1 p.m. contest on CBS.

Oct. 27, 2013: It’s homecoming of sorts for new Bills coach Doug Marrone, who was the New Orleans Saints’ offensive coordinator from 2006-08. Buffalo hits the Big Easy for a 1 p.m. affair on CBS.

Nov. 3, 2013: It’s a battle in Buffalo between two first-year coaches as Marrone matches wits with Andy Reid, new QB Alex Smith and the rest of the Kansas City Chiefs at 1 p.m. on CBS.

Nov. 10, 2013: It’s never fun to visit Big Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers, but the Bills will take their chances at 1 p.m. on CBS.

Nov. 17, 2013:  The Jets fly into Buffalo for this 1 p.m. game on CBS. At this point in the season, it will be interesting to see who will be Gang Green’s QB.

Nov. 24, 2013: At long last, it’s the bye week.

Dec. 1, 2013: Tough spot here. Matt Ryan and the defending NFC South champion Atlanta Falcons soar into Buffalo for a 4:05 p.m. game on Fox.

Dec. 8, 2013: It’s yet another matchup against an NFC South team as the Bills travel to Tampa Bay for a 1 p.m. kickoff against the Buccaneers on CBS.

Dec. 15, 2013: Buffalo takes a jaunt to Jacksonville, but former Bills coach Mike Mularkey won’t be around for this 1 p.m. matchup on CBS. He’s been replaced as the Jags head man by former Seattle Seahawks defensive coordinator Gus Bradley.

Dec. 22, 2013: Wishful thinking here. But if something unforeseen happens to the Patriots, maybe this 1 p.m. home game against Miami on CBS will indeed decide the AFC East.

Dec. 29, 2013: Oh well. The Bills almost avoid facing New England twice in a regular season.  Almost.  This CBS game kicks off at 1 p.m.
