Chargers-Raiders Game Delayed By MLB Playoffs
By Allen Kim
It appears that the Sunday night schedule will be a little bit more crowded this weekend.
The division matchup between the San Diego Chargers and Oakland Raiders has been moved back from its originally scheduled 4:25 p.m. time slot all the way back to 11:35 p.m. ET.
The Oakland Athletics are scheduled to host a playoff game at the Coliseum the night before, and the Chargers-Raiders game has been moved back to give the grounds crew more time to prepare the field for the game. The Coliseum is often considered one of the more difficult fields to play on, and stadium employees are being given extra time to make sure that the field is properly converted from a baseball diamond into a football field.
The game will be aired on the NFL Network, and it’ll be playing almost back-to-back with the Sunday Night Football game between the Houston Texans and San Francisco 49ers.
The extra time may even give Raiders QB Terrelle Pryor just enough of an added cushion to have him ready for the game after he suffered a concussion against Washington.
