Christion Jones is a wide receiver, punt returner and kick-off returner for the University of Alabama Crimson Tide of the Southeastern Conference. Phil Steele named Jones a 2014 pre-season second team All-American all-purpose player.
Jones attended Minor High School in Alabama where he was a four-star recruit as a defensive back. ESPN U ranked Jones as the number-10 cornerback in the country and he starred on both sides of the ball as a senior. Jones ran for more than 1,000 yards and 19 total touchdowns (including two kick-off returns to the house) while tallying 57 tackles and picking off four passes in 2010.
Jones played right away as a true freshman at Alabama in 2011. He tallied three catches for 49 yards and returned three punts for 33 yards on the season. Jones also returned one kick-off for 32 yards. He had 47 all-purpose yards in the BCS National Title Game against LSU.
In 2012 Jones started 10 games and totaled 328 receiving yards and four touchdowns on 25 catches. Jones finished fourth on the Crimson Tide in all-purpose yards as the sophomore finished with 728, an average of 56 yards per game. He returned a kick-off for a touchdown, the first time a Crimson Tide player had accomplished the feat since 2010.
Jones continued to shine as an all-purpose threat in 2013. He caught 36 passes for 349 yards and two touchdowns. Jones averaged 14 yards per punt return and took two all the way back for scores. Meanwhile he tallied yet another kick-off return for a touchdown and averaged 28.7 yards per return.
