Colts Ink Ahmad Bradshaw
By Nate Woelfel
ESPN.com’s Adam Schefter is reporting that the Indianapolis Colts have signed running back Ahmad Bradshaw to a one-year deal.
Bradshaw worked out for the Colts last week.
Financial details of the deal were not immediately available.
Up until this point, the seven-year veteran had spent his entire career with the New York Giants. He played in 14 games last season and amassed 1,015 rushing yards and six touchdowns on 212 carries. He also hauled in 31 receptions for 245 yards.
Though his knees have been cause for concern, Bradshaw should have a chance to make an immediate impact. Indianapolis has three running backs on the roster who saw carries with the team last season, but none of them carry the credentials of Bradshaw.
The Colts’ depth chart currently lists Vick Ballard as the first-string back. Ballard ran for 814 yards and two touchdowns on 211 carries in 2012.
The Colts are set to open minicamp on Wednesday.
Bradshaw will never be the feature back he once looked like he'd become. But he is a perfect compatible part for Ballard in Indy. Great signing.
