The Indianapolis Colts have placed NT Brandon McKinney on injured reserve, according to Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post. Coach Chuck Pagano cited “swelling” in his knee as the reason for the move. Beyond that, there’s not much information available other than his knee being an issue.

The 29-year-old out of Michigan State is on the verge of turning 30. He was initially signed to a two-year, $2 million contract last year, but he missed all of the 2012 season after a torn ACL ended his year. His career is now potentially in jeopardy.

The Colts also rescinded the waiver on LB C.O. Prime, leaving him as a part of the 90-man roster after the loss of McKinney.
