Jerry Jones could only look on with concern after Tony Romo was injured late in the second quarter of the Dallas Cowboys’ home opener against the New York Giants. Romo was crushed by Justin Trattou and Mathias Kiwanuka on a sack, and he was clearly hurting after the hit. He could be seen writhing on the ground in pain, and things certainly look bleak right now. While Romo was able to walk off the field under his own power, he was grimacing while on the sidelines. The only potential good sign is that no trainers were examining him while he was on the bench, and he may have just had the wind knocked out of him. Backup QB Kyle Orton was tapped to take over for Romo. Update: According to Ed Werder of ESPN, Romo just had the wind knocked out of him and he’ll be good to go for the second half. However, Romo didn't look 100 percent while he was warming up on the sidelines. This will be a situation to monitor for the Cowboys and their medical staff.
