Day Two Mock Draft

Gotta love the symmetry.

The Texans spent the first draft pick in their history on Fresno State quarterback David Carr. He was supposed to be the face of the expansion franchise, only his face was tough to see, buried as it was so often under a pile of defenders.

Now, the Texans are coming off the worst season in their history. And, again, they have the opportunity to take a Fresno State quarterback named Carr as their quarterback of the future. Ironically, despite the debacle that was 2013, the team that David's brother, Derek, could take over is far closer to a contender than anything David ever had to work with.

Houston tried its best to trade out of the top spot of the 2014 NFL Draft, but was unable to find a deal comparable to the one the Rams got to trade out of No. 2 two years ago. Instead, the Texans willingly accepted the consolation prize: Jadeveon Clowney, the best prospect in this year's draft and the best defensive prospect in a decade or more.

As we countdown to the start of Day Two, we can speculate whether Houston will take its quarterback with the first pick of Round Two -- and, if so, will that new quarterback be another Carr.

Here is how the next two rounds will shake out on Friday:
