There was a lot of competition for the Defensive End over the past few months. The Seahawks and Cowboys were very interested, and had the Seahawks landed him, it would have made a very strong case for them to repeat. However, Allen set his sites on rival Chicago, a team that is desperate for an identity on defense after some unexpected departures, and a team that Allen's been hating for the past 6 years.

It hurt Chicago fans when Julius Peppers went to Green Bay. Well Chicago? Minnesota feels your pain now. Aren't you happy?

Jared Allen comes into Chicago on a Four Year Deal, worth $32 Million. It includes $15.5 Million Garanteed and could be voided after the 3rd year and $24 Million.

He will have a major impact on the Bears defense and identity these next few years.

The Windy City got a little more Windy, for opposing offenses, that is.
