There's been plenty of speculation recently surrounding Toni Kroos' potential move to Real Madrid, and now that speculation has turned into reality.

The 24-year-old midfielder is set to leave Bayern Munich and head to Spain on a five-year deal to join Carlo Ancelotti's squad.

With fellow Germany teammate Sami Khedira getting closer and closer towards a deal to leave Real for Arsenal, and Angel Di Maria being linked to a Paris Saint-Germain move, adding Kroos is obviously a nice pick-up.

He scored two goals in Germany's thrashing of Brazil in the World Cup semifinal, and played a huge role in helping lead the team to its first World Cup trophy since 1990.

What Kroos has been able to accomplish in his short career thus far is pretty outstanding. He's been a part of the Champions League winner and World Cup champions, so he understands what it's like to play at the highest level.

He's also publicly stated that his dream is to play in Madrid, which makes this a perfect match in terms of the two side's interests.

The La Liga race -- as usual -- will come down to Kroos' new club and Barcelona, which has made an even bigger splash by bringing in biting expert Luis Suarez. Should Real also make a major run at Colombia star James Rodriguez, that could certainly be a game-changer moving forward.

There's still a lot that can happen between now and the start of the season, so it will be interesting to watch both of these European powers continue to make moves.

If Real can continue to replace elite talent with elite talent, it should have a great chance at repeating as European champions next season.
