Richard Seymour Drawing Interest From Teams

According to Jason La Conforna, Richard Seymour is looking to return this season for a contending team, possibly by Week 10. Seymour spent the last four seasons with the Oakland Raiders, and had his most recent Pro Bowl season in 2012.

While Seymour has said that he is interested in a return for a "contendor", he has ruled out a reunion with the New England Patriots, the team that traded him to the Raiders in a messy split. The decision will be made with his family, and it is believed he will be asking for far more than the veteran's minimum for a return. The scheme-averse defender would be a great fit as a 3-4 defensive end or as a 4-3 defensive tackle for any team looking to bolster up its front four.

After a relatively quiet offseason for Seymour, interest picked up as the season neared from the Atlanta Falcons, as well as recently from the San Francisco 49ers and the Detroit Lions. There is plenty of time for Seymour to find a team between now and his Week 10 deadline, but any team looking to sign him would be best off doing it sooner rather than later to get him in playing shape and adjusted to his new team. Don't sleep on the Houston Texans or Indianapolis Colts as possible landing spots for the now 33 year old All-Pro.

The seven time Pro-Bowler and three time All-Pro will be a solid addition to any team he joins, and can be a key cog for a team looking to shore up its defensive line as it makes a deep playoff run.
