The Pac-12's media day kicked off early Friday morning with the release of the preseason Pac-12 poll. Voted on by members of the media that cover the Pac-12, the name at the top had a familiar ring to it — Oregon.

The Ducks accumulated 145 points to outdistance Stanford (139) and UCLA (135). Fourteen of the 26 voters in the poll tabbed Oregon the favorite to win the Pac-12 title game.

While Oregon outdistanced Stanford to win the North Division, UCLA was the choice to emerge from the South. The Bruins paced Arizona State (130 points).

The 2013 Pac-12 championship football game will be played Saturday, Dec. 7, at 5 p.m. (PDT) and be telecast on eithe ESPN or ABC. The game will be played on the home field of the division winner with the best overall conference record.

The media poll correctly has projected the league champion in 28 of 52 previous polls and has been on something of a tear lately, picking 11 of the last 13 champions. Here are the results of this year's preseason poll using a 6-5-4-3-2-1 scoring system (first-place votes in parenthesis).
