Germany go on a demolition against Brazil as they punish the host nation 7-1! Five first half goals in the first thirty minutes would already decide the game as Brazil crumbled defensively and the Germans made them pay as they advanced to a World Cup final after a 24 year absence.

The first Semi Final kicked off to a huge roar as the Marcana stadium exploded into cheers as Brazil faced off against Germany. Two teams with a lot of pride, a great football history and playing to make it to the Finals of the 2014 World Cup. Brazil were without their captain Thiago Silva who was suspended and also without their star Neymar who was out due to a back injury. The Germans fielded the same side that saw them defeat France 1-0 in the quarter final. The game started with a fast tempo as Brazil pushed forward first and attacked the German goal. An early corner and then a a strike from distance by Marcelo showed that the Brazilians were ready to attack. Germany though settled as the match wore on and slowly started to enjoy some possession of their own. Ozil would help Germany earn their first chance as he found Khedira at the top of the box, but the Real Madrid forward's shot would strike his own player and not trouble the keeper. Then in a shock to the host country Germany would take the early lead scoring in the 11th minute. A quick counter attack saw Germany earn a corner on the right side. Kroos would whip in the ball across the box and some very poor defending left Muller totally unmarked as the far post and he easily side footed into back of the net to give Germany the lead.

Brazil find themselves behind for the first time since their opening match and needed to dig deep to find a way to bring the score back on level terms. The rest of the half was a physical encounter as both teams tested the referee with some strong tackles and very physical encounters. The ref though managed to calm the situation down and let the teams play on not brandishing his card yet. Brazil pressed the Germans as they searched for the equaliser but needed to be careful not to get caught on the counter. Then to add misery to the Brazilian fans the Germans would strike again in the 23rd minute as they doubled their lead. Klose found himself inside the penalty area after Germany broke on the counter. He took a touch and then let off a shot at goal, Cesar managed to get a touch but it rebounded back to Klose who made no mistakes with his second touch and would write World Cup History as he scored his 16th goal and leads the all time World Cup goal scorers list.

Then it would be all over by the 29th minute as Brazil crumbled defensively and Germans powered home which saw them score three more goals to give Germany a commanding 5-0 lead and that with still 15 minutes to play in the first half. Brazil would push forward after going down two goals but it seems they would totally disregard their defensive duties as Khedira and Kroos went on a rampage and would break Brazilian hearts. First it would be Khedira who would set up Kroos for two very easy finished from inside the box as he drew the defence to him and then squared the ball back to Kroos. Then it would be Khedira's turn as he was left open at the top of the box and slotted the ball into the bottom left corner to give the Germans a huge 5-0 advantage. The halftime whistle couldn't come sooner for the Brazilian players as they entered the change rooms with a stunned stadium of home fans that just wanted to wake up from this nightmare performance they were seeing.

The second half was routine for the Germans as they held possession well and defended with numbers as Brazil looked to regain some pride and maybe get a goal or two back. They had some close moments up front as Oscar was denied a tap in and then again denied by Neuer as he tried to power in a shot from inside the box. Paulinho was next to try for the Brazilians but Neuer stood strong and denied the Tottenham midfielder twice as he tried to thunder home from the left side of the box. Germany needed to be careful not to allow Brazil a chance to fire themselves up and get back into this match. Germany finally managed to settle after the early onslaught by Brazil and enjoyed some possession back in Brazil's half. Muller was looking for another goal as he searched for the Golden boot but his shot towards the top left corner was tipped clear by the fingertips of Cesar. Brazil did power on but it was to no avail as Schurrle made it 6-0 for Germany in the 68th minute and then in the 78th minute made it an unprecedented 7-0. Oscar did get a consolation goal back but it was the first half heroics by Germany and the poor defending by the Brazilians decided this match after only 30 minutes and Brazil failed to make the final and Germany moved on to face either Argentina or the Netherlands.
