Bio

Dante Fowler is a defensive end for the University of Florida Gators of the Southeastern Conference. He was named to Phil Steele’s second-team preseason All-American squad prior to the 2014 season.

High School

Fowler attended Lakewood Senior High School in Florida. He was a 2012 Under Armour All-American and a five-star prospect according to Rivals.com, which ranked him as the number-three weak side defensive end in the nation. Fowler was an ESPN 150 recruit and an honorable mention All-American selection by Sports Illustrated.

College

Fowler played as a true freshman at Florida in 2012 and appeared in all 13 games for the Gators. He made his first career start against Missouri. He tallied 30 tackles and eight tackles for loss. Fowler notched 2.5 sacks and was named a second-team Freshman All-America by Phil Steele, Scout.com and FoxSportsNext.com.

In 2013, Fowler started in all 12 games and earned a spot on the All-SEC second team as chosen by the media. He led the Gators with 10.5 tackles for loss and was second with 3.5 sacks. He forced three fumbles and recovered one while tallying 50 total stops on the year. Two of his forced fumbles and his recovery came against Tennessee. For his efforts, Fowler was named the Athlon Sports National Defensive Player of the Week and the SEC Defensive Player of the Week. College Football News selected Fowler to their All-Sophomore team.
