With the 19th pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins select.....

Come May 8th, Dolphins fans will be on the edges of their seats because no one knows how that statement will finish. Will it be a player that will can get them into a position where they can make some noise in the AFC East? If so, can they help the team make some noise in the playoffs, something that they have so desperately over the last few years?

It seems as though, for the second straight season, Miami has been hitting the free agency market hard, addressing the majority of their needs with veterans. This decision seems to be a good idea on the surface. Now, they are going to have some freedom to go after the players and talent that they want without worrying about positional needs.

When it comes to the first round, the Dolphins can go one of two ways. They can continue to improve their shaky offensive line or they can try to create a more dominant defensive line. Either way, it seems like a good idea. But the question remains: Who do they choose with the 19th pick?

If they decide to go with an offensive lineman, a strong choice would be Zack Martin from the University of Notre Dame. Martin, who started 39 games in his last three seasons in South Bend, is a very consistent player. With Jonathan Martin being traded to San Francisco and replaced by Brandon Albert, Martin could join Albert on the left side of the line as he takes Richie Incognito's spot at guard.

However, if they decide to go defense, they should look no further than Martin's college teammate, Louis Nix. While Nix’s senior season was cut short due to injury, it is hard to forget the impact that he had when Notre Dame played for the National Championship in 2013. Nix was a force in the middle of the line, stopping both the run and pressuring the quarterback. While the Dolphins look to rebuild their defensive line, this could be one of the best options left at this point of the draft.

It is going to be another interesting draft for the Miami Dolphins. With so many player joining the team through free agency this offseason, it leaves us to wonder what direction the team is going to go once the draft rolls around. The possibilities that the Dolphins have will make this an exciting time for the organization and their fans. We will just have to wait and see how everything plays out.
