Bio

Doug Baldwin is a wide receiver for the Seattle Seahawks. He has played three seasons with the Seahawks after signing as an undrafted free agent out of Stanford University.

Early Years

Baldwin was born on September 21, 1988 in Gulf Breeze, FL and played for Gulf Breeze High School. He first began playing youth football in Pensacola, FL and played in the same league as Washington Redskins running back Alfred Morris. As a senior at Gulf Breeze High, he caught 42 passes for 682 yards and six touchdowns and decided to play college football at Stanford University.

Stanford University

Baldwin saw action at wide receiver and as a return specialist for the Cardinal as a true freshman in 2007. He appeared in 12 games, making 11 receptions for 93 yards and returning 24 kickoffs for 555 yards. He doubled his reception total to 23 as a sophomore and recorded 332 receiving yards and four touchdowns during the 2008 season. Injuries limited him as a junior, as he only appeared in seven games and made only four receptions. He bounced back with his best season at the college level as a senior in 2010, making 58 reception and leading Stanford with 857 receiving yards and nine touchdowns.

Seattle Seahawks

Following graduation, Baldwin was not selected in the 2011 NFL Draft. The Seattle Seahawks signed him to a three-year deal worth $1.4 million as an undrafted free agent, and he became a surprise contributor at wide receiver as a rookie. His 51 receptions ranked fourth in the league for rookie receivers and he became the first undrafted rookie to lead his team in receptions and receiving yards since the AFL-NFL merger. Shoulder and ankle injuries limited his production in 2012, as he caught 29 passes for 366 yards and three scores. He returned with a strong 2013 campaign in which he caught 50 passes for nearly 800 yards and a career-high five touchdowns. He led Seattle with five receptions for 66 yards and a touchdown in a 43-8 dismantling of the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII.
