Ed Reed's Status For Monday Night Still Undecided
By Jonah Diltz
One of the most talked about offseason acquirements, S Ed Reed, might be back sooner than we thought for the Houston Texans. Reed, who has been recovering from hip surgery, has been taken off the PUP list and is preparing to get back to the game he loves.
The safety, known for his ball-hawking characteristics, thinks there might be a possibility he could play in the game against the San Diego Chargers on Monday night and so does his coach Gary Kubiak. When asked about Reed, Kubiak said, "There's some progress that would have to be made to get him ready to go on Monday, but boy, has he made a lot of progress."
Reed is a nine-time Pro Bowler who will be missed in Baltimore but heavily accepted in Houston. This already stellar defense, with the likes of JJ Watt and the recently re-signed Brian Cushing, will thrive once Ed Reed returns.
JJ Watt, talking about Reed, said, "Ed's a playmaker. He's a guy who flies around and he always seems to find the ball and that's so much fun to play with because you know he's back there and you know he's a wild card and you know he can make plays that you wouldn't really expect him to make, so it's going to be a lot of fun to have him on this defense."
