El Shaarawy not interested in Manchester City move

By Football News

Manchester City target Stephan El Shaarawy has admitted he is flattered to be linked with a move but insists he is happy at Milan.

The 20-year-old  impressed at the San Siro last season with 19 goals in 46 appearances and despite speculation about a switch to the Premier League, he wants to stay in Italy.

El Shaarawy's 16 league goals were not enough to help Milan forge a sustained title challenge in Serie A, the club finished third behind champions Juventus and runners-up Napoli.

That lack of success has raised the possibility of player changes ahead of the new season and Milan have been linked with a move for City striker Carlos Tevez, with the Argentine reported to form part of a swap deal for El Shaarawy.

El Shaarawy, though, is concentrating on building for the future with Milan and on the Confederations Cup with Italy.

"I do not think I will leave Milan. It is true that City wants me, it flatters me," the striker told La Repubblica.

"But I want to stay at a big club where I am comfortable and to whom I feel a connection.

"I've always felt happy at Milan and I feel total confidence on the part of everyone in the company.

"(Milan manager Massimiliano) Allegri and his coaches have always encouraged me, even when I have not scored a goal as first , helping me with some very important work.
"I am here in the national team now, I owe it to them."

Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani is adamant that the striker as well as midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng will be at the club next season.

"Stephan does not move from AC Milan and we have no offers for Boateng," Galliani told Mediaset.
