Mountain West Conference football fans, it’s time to update your calendars as the league officially released its 98-game schedule Thursday.

Included are 48 conference matchups for the newly-expanded 12-team league, beginning with Air Force hosting MWC newcomer and defending Western Athletic Conference champion Utah State on Sept. 7. The 2013 schedule will play out over 15 weeks, concluding Sat., Dec. 7 with the inaugural Mountain West Football Championship Game to be played at the home stadium of the divisional champion with the highest BCS ranking.

The non-conference slate will kick off with a quintet of games on Thursday, Aug. 29, and will include 22 contests against teams that earned bowl berths in 2012. Highlighting that list are USC at Hawaii (Aug. 29), San Jose State at Stanford (Sept. 7), Nevada at Florida State (Sept. 14), Colorado State at Alabama (Sept. 21) and Notre Dame at Air Force (Oct. 26).

Kickoff times and telecast information are being finalized and will be announced later this spring.
