There were some concerns yesterday when Atlanta Falcons WR Roddy White left last night’s preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens after an apparent ankle injury, but Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported that it was just a low ankle sprain.

While an ankle sprain is not to be taken lightly, White apparently would have been able to play through the injury if it were a regular season game and not a meaningless preseason matchup. So it’s clear that the team was just being cautious when they kept him out of the game while Julio Jones took apart Baltimore’s secondary.

White luckily avoided the dreaded high ankle sprain, which tends to be a far more severe injury for athletes. He’s been an ironman for Atlanta over the course of his career, and it looks like his streak of 128 consecutive games played will not be broken just yet.

Falcons fans should rest easy knowing that the other half of their dynamic duo should be good to go once Week 1 of the regular season rolls around.
