Football.com Preseason Power Dozen: Bama, Ohio State 1-2
Welcome to the inaugural Football.com Power Dozen!
Below you will find our rankings. Based on Football.com scores, there's a clear-cut Top 5 (Alabama, Ohio State, Stanford, Oregon and Georgia) before a gap back to No. 6 Clemson.
Methodology: First-place votes equate to zero points. Voters rank their Top 13 to help differentiate marginal teams. Teams ranked 2-13 get a point total equivalent to their rank. If a team is not ranked in a person's Top 13, they are automatically assigned 15 points. The lowest aggregate score is ranked No. 1, second-lowest No. 2 and so forth.

Joe Jenkins - Football com
Couldn't agree more with dseigs. The Dawgs have the most brutal schedule in the country...especially the first four games. There's only one easy game for UGA (North Texas) in the first month of the season.
Georgia wins both of those games and the Dawgs are jumping on my ballot, I don't care what Bama does to Va Tech.
That is so true. Taking it a step further, the Georgia, S. Carolina and Florida teams (5 of the 12 teams) will kind of all get a chance to battle it out for region supremacy.
Georgia No. 5, Clemson No. 6 and South Carolina No. 7. That's a pretty good testament to the level of competition coming out of that area's triumvirate. Best part, we should know who's legit by the end of Week 2. UGA vs. Clemson (Week 1); South Carolina vs. UGA (Week 2). Can't wait.
