What to expect: The Giants lost their sixth round pick when they traded up to grab Nassib in the fourth round, and in the seventh round they went for an offensive lineman again, taking Eric Herman from the Ohio Bobcats. Herman is a big and physical lineman, and will definitely add a lot of toughness in the trenches for the Giants.
Who they could have gotten instead: Once again, the team passed up on available cornerbacks and linebackers to draft an offensive lineman, their second of the draft. Sam Barrington, a linebacker from Jason Pierre-Paul's alma mater of South Florida, was taken by the Packers at No. 232 overall, seven picks after the Giants. And Rutgers linebacker Steve Beauharnais went to the New England Patriots at No. 235.
Potential impact: Herman will mainly be used to add some competition to the offensive line and, at the very most, will add some additional depth to the line going into training camp this summer.
