Hutson Mason is a quarterback for the University of Georgia Bulldogs of the Southeastern Conference.

High School

Mason attended Lassiter High School in Georgia. He only started for two seasons but finished his career with 8,265 passing yards and 85 touchdowns through the air. Mason was named a 2009 Parade Magazine All-American. As a senior he set Georgia state records in passing yards with 4,560 and touchdown passes with 54 in one season. Lassiter finished 12-1 and won their first region championship in program history. Mason was ranked as the 21st best quarterback in the nation by ESPN.com.

College

Mason appeared in four games in 2010 for Georgia. On his first collegiate snap, Mason threw a 26-yard touchdown pass to Logan Gray. He once again appeared in four games in 2011, throwing for 254 yards and two touchdowns. Mason elected to redshirt in 2012 before appearing in five games for the Bulldogs in 2013. He threw for 968 yards while tossing five touchdown passes. Mason made his first career start against Georgia Tech rallied Georgia from 20 points down by throwing for 299 yards and two touchdowns. He filled in for an injured Aaron Murray in the Bulldogs’ game against Kentucky, throwing for 189 yards and a touchdown while running for a touchdown as well after entering the game in the second quarter. Mason shined in the Gator Bowl against Nebraska with 320 passing yards.
